IRENE VERMOOTEN - Clinical psychologist
Irene is a clinical psychologist with 15 years’ experience in private practice. She is fully registered with AHPRA and a member of the Australian Psychological Society.
Over the years she has successfully treated a diverse range of clients, including children, adolescents, adults and the elderly. One of her areas of specialisation is working with children and the use of Play therapy. This is often combined with a Parenting Program in order to improve the quality of relationships at home and restore general happiness in the family unit. She believes in providing high quality, evidence based, psychological services and in the importance of working in close collaboration with referring providers and other parties involved in a client’s care. Irene is registered as a provider for the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) and WorkCover Qld. She has extensive experience in treating WorkCover clients and assisting them in rejoining the workforce after sustaining psychological injury. Irene is passionate about helping individuals experience meaningful and fulfilling lives through identifying the obstacles, trauma, pain and problems which holds them back and then guiding them skilfully to improved mental health. This is achieved by building new skills that are used to manage unhelpful thoughts and difficult feelings, as well as working on identifying, connecting with, and acting in accordance with one’s values |
